Richard Baker helped me with a wrist injury that physiotherapy had not healed. He worked through the options with me and explained things very clearly. We tried steriod injections followed by further physio, and also MRI scans, however unfortunately these were not successful or conclusive. He rightly kept surgery as the last resort however in this instance it was required. I was very impressed with the surgery. It was quick and effective and Mr Baker explained things throughout. The whole procedure was less than 2 hours and my wrist has since healed very well. It has helped reduce the pain and I am now on the road to hopefully full recovery. I was particularly impressed with the way the operation was completed with minimal impact to me, helping me heal quickly, and also how effective the process was. I even asked for some videos and photos to be taken so I could see how the procedure went. These were really helpful and also showed just how impressive the techniques used were. Mr Baker is clearly very skilled in his work, and combined with his nice persona, I would certainly recommend him without hesitation.

Mr Richard Baker was very efficient and provided logical and explicit facts to enable me to make an informed decision for the planned surgery on my finger. The communications were pertinent and outlined benefits and any risk factors. During my surgery as a day case I really appreciated the opportunity to observe my operation in progress as it proceeded. It was good to clearly observe the procedure and receive relevant explanations from Mr Baker at regular intervals. It was very intricate and I appreciate the care I received on the operating table. I have received a post surgery follow up by Mr Baker. The X-ray showed all was most satisfactory and I was discharged. The above demonstrates my care was most satisfactory and I appreciate how efficient Mr Baker and his team were throughout. In addition, Mr Baker treated me with respect.

Mr Baker has performed operations on my wrists over the last 3 years to help with Osteoarthritis and carpal tunnel issues. The procedures went very well and I have had a successful outcome. I was suffering with carpal tunnel syndrome. I had suffered eight years of progressively worsening symptoms which had affected my nights' sleep badly during that period. After a consultation with Mr. Baker, I had my right wrist operated on just ten days before Christmas Day. It has proved to be one of the best decisions I have made for many a long year! The operation, under local anaesthetic, was completely pain-free, and I now have really good nights' rest. My dealings with Mr. Baker have been excellent! He is very professional, listens carefully, and he informed me and explained my condition's causes perfectly to me. I liked, too, the fact that he has phoned me twice post-operation, once just before Christmas and once during January, to see what progress I was making. Not many consultants show that degree of interest! I have the merest of scars on the heel of my hand and flexibility returned quite quickly. My left wrist needs a similar operation and I shall have that following my second Coronavirus vaccination next month. I can only encourage others who have suffered similar problems to consult Mr. Baker! Bob Reid.
